I participated in the Porter County Master Gardeners Show yesterday and it was a very nice event.  The crowd was enormous!  There was a seed and bulb exchange, various speakers who had expertise in plants and gardening, and many vendors with unique treasures for the yard.  I displayed mostly floral and bird paintings at this event; many found treasures that they purchased and took home with them. 

Yep, it's me and it's been sixteen days since my last blog post.  Seems like a long time, but it IS an improvement over last year!  I am putting the finishing touches on a new painting, Poppy Pair.  It's a 12 x 12 Acrylic.  I photographed it before putting on the clear coat as it is almost impossible to get an image without a lot of reflection after it is applied.

At the top of my lists of goals for 2010 is to become a "better blogger".  I am an artist not a writer and if you look too closely at my grammar that will be evident. (smile)   Several of you have asked about new paintings and I realize that I haven't posted any of those recently either.  I spent the weeks before Christmas working on a large painting for my son for Christmas.  I have been having some health problems as of late and because of this an artist friend offered to help me on the painting.  The painting is a 3' x 4' acrylic and we completed it days before Christmas.  My son was completely surprised and loves his new painting.

This painting of poppies is still wet and just off the easel.  I call it Poppies Fiesta II.  Not too long ago I painted Poppies Fiesta and it sold at a local art fair.  I had so much fun painting the first one that I decided to do another.  There have been more cold, rainy, gloomy days lately than I would like, and painting these poppies just brightened the past few days.  Soon I will get this photographed and uploaded, and it will be available to brighten someone else's home.

This painting is hot off the easel!  I must say that this is one of my personal favorites so far.  The title is "To The Secret Place".  It's an Original Acrylic 18 x 24.  This painting is still available.  Please go to my website for purchase information.

This is another little 5x7 birch forest painting that I completed today.  Several of these will most likely be going to a miniature show fundraiser that the Chesterton Art Center is having in October.

This is a small study I painted last night.

Presently I am working on three different paintings and have several more on the drawing board.  Then there are the thousands of ideas I have and the sobering reality that there are just so many hours.  I know many of you enjoy seeing the progress of the paintings, so I have posted a few of this birch tree painting. I still have many hours of work left on this one.  It seems to be taking on a life of its own and is becoming something totally different than what I had envisioned.
